Halloween Ball 2009
On October 31st we held our 2nd
Annual Ball , this time at
Notts
County FC
. After months of preparation and endless hours preparing
decorations the time had come!
We were expecting 106 guests , either in fancy
dress or formal attire and they didn’t let us down . There were some
fantastic costumes ,
everyone got into the spirit of the occasion .
We changed the venue to Meadow Lane this year following on from
last years feedback, and it proved to be the right decision . The
food was great and the bar process a lot cheaper so everyone was
happy.
The evening was in aid of the Trust, we were
hoping to beat last years total raised of £3000. We had a tombola ,
raffle and auction as well as a raffle for those that couldn’t be
with us on the night .
Notts
County were a fabulous
host, allowing us in the room 36 hours early to prepare and giving
us enough time ( with hangovers ) the day after to take it all down
again !
The event wouldn’t happen without the
generosity of all the willing volunteers, decorators , prop makers ,
room dressers, photographer , raffle ticket sellers and so on . Also, the
donations by companies and individuals alike was amazing. We had
some great raffle and auction prizes and we thank you all from the
bottom of our hearts.
Our final total of monies raised was a fabulous
£3838!!!
We are splitting monies raised into 4
categories in 2010
25% to support Maddison House Orphanage in Kenya
25% to support a nominated charity in the UK – TBC
25% to support local individual causes
25% to continue running and promoting the Trust
